It seems another Spider-Man may have found his leading lady! Andrew Garfield is sparking dating rumors after being seen holding hands with “magickal practitioner” Dr. Kate Tomas.

The rumored couple was spotted out in Malibu on what looked like a date last week. Garfield, 40, and Tomas were seen leaving a dinner date with singer Pheobe Bridgers and comedian Bo Burnham at the French restaurant Zinqué. The duo was all smiles as they were snapped holding hands while lingering outside the eatery to chat with their friends.

Garfield was casually dressed in a thick gray sweater, dark pants, and a matching cap, while Tomas wore a colorful floral dress. At one point, the Golden Globe winner wrapped his arm around Tomas as they laughed with Burnham and Bridgers before the couples parted ways.

The double date comes after the Tick, Tick… Boom! actor and Tomas were spotted grabbing groceries in Los Angeles together the week before.

It’s no surprise that Garfield hasn’t spoken out about his new romance; the Under the Banner of Heaven star typically strives to keep his private life under wraps. He’s been vocal about a few notable relationships in the past, including his longtime romance with Amazing Spider-Man co-star Emma Stone. The former couple met in 2010 and dated until 2015.

In a 2021 interview with Bustle, the actor said that he’s “designed” his life to be as removed from the public eye as much as possible.

“I’m not in the public eye to a great degree because I’ve designed it that way for myself,” he added of choosing to keep his love life private.

As for Tomas, while the Oxford University graduate has also kept mum about her blossoming romance with the star, she’s not far removed from the spotlight either.

According to her business website, Tomas is a “world expert in Mysticism and Catholic women mystics” who holds a bachelor’s degree in Classics, a master’s degree in Philosophy of Religion and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Theology.

She claims to have a successful career “advising multinational brands” and to have become “a trusted advisor to governments [and] CEOs of banks.” Per her website, some of the clients for her readings have included Lena Dunham and Megan Mullally.

Tomas created what is now known as the Foundations of Energy Mastery — a mentorship program for women and non-binary to learn her spiritual practices — in 2018.

“The traditions I am an initiate of have the ability to unleash huge power. The biggest corporations, governments and most powerful people on the globe know this and utilise this strength daily,” her site reads. “When this power is used for good, it can change the world. I see a time when energetic work is once again as highly prized by ordinary people as it is to those with money and power. I think the time for a resurgence of energy and connection has already begun.”

Tomas, who also published a book, Chakra Crystals, in 2019, has a large following on TikTok, where she posts videos on everything from decolonizing your thought process to differing definitions of magic and rescuing disabled cats

And while Garfield has been quiet about his romance with Tomas, the actor has been open about his thoughts on building a family in the future

In an interview with British GQ published in 2022, Garfield discussed the idea of reaching fatherhood at a certain age as he got ready to celebrate his 40th birthday with his high school friends, most of whom are already fathers.

“It’s interesting — I always thought I would be the first to have kids and settle down, and they’re all shacked up and a couple of kids deep, for the most part,” he shared. “And I’m like…I’m here with you, eating a burger, just contemplating existence. Trying to fill my days with as much nonsense as I possibly can. So that’s interesting… Releasing myself from the societal obligation of procreating by the time I’m 40 has been an interesting thing to do with myself.”

The star then got even more candid about why he thinks fatherhood just hasn’t been in the cards for him, yet. “It’s more about accepting a different path than what was kind of expected of me from birth. Like, by this time you will have done this, and you will have at least one child – that kind of thing. I think I have some guilt around that. And obviously it’s easier for me as a man,” he noted.

The actor said the sense of guilt stems from the death of his mother, Lynn, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2019 “because of course, I would’ve loved my mum to have met my kids, if I’m going to have kids.”

Garfield added that if and when he does have kids, his mother will meet them “in spirit.”

“I know she’s there, for all the big ones,” he said. “But yeah, life, life, life. Life is in charge. We’ll see. We’ll see what happens. I’m curious.”
