EV.BUDDY Autonomous Charging Service for Area Without Charging Stations
EV.Buddy is a concept autonomous charging service that moves around to recharge your electric vehicles in both wired and wireless environments. This project is developed as a vision for future electric vehicle charging system. As an autonomous charging device, EV.Buddy is capable to move around to recharge your EV while it’s in parking spot.
Thanks to its mecanum wheels, EV.Buddy can easily align itself when running around in parking area. This concept aims to address our need of a wireless EV charging system, Lee Dong Ju explains that even when EV.Buddy is done, it remains useful in its post-transition. This robotic wireless charging system can move to another areas without any charging stations until they become available in those areas. As an autonomous EV charger, EV.Buddy is capable to manage charging flow, the network can also dispatch multiple units when needed.
