Would you use a transparent bathroom with stunning view, located in the wilderness? Goodviewloo is a counteryside bathroom, located in Cantabria’s unspoiled landscape. It’s a small structure, located near a barn which is being converted into a residential building, hence, Goodviewloo offers a composting toilet and shower during that period and beyond. Due to its secluded location, this toilet design can play with transparency of corrugated sheets, its subtle presence won’t interrupt its natural environment. Therefore, the façade material changes based on varying weather and light conditions, it looks reflective and almost transparent, creating a gorgeous, dynamic interplay between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The material of Goodviewloo makes it possible for that translucent façade to provide view from both indoor and outdoor, its changing light can be perceived at all times. Designed by Nico Goebel, the bathroom feels bright and open because nature is always present inside without losing intimacy. Even if you want to see the view, there’s a panoramic window that offers a spectacular views of those rolling green hills.
Goodviewloo Bathroom is divided into two zones, one area contains the toilet and a washbasin, the other area is for the shower. The shower area is designed as an open space, other people won’t be able to see you from the street due to natural topography. This structure is built on a rectangular foundation, featuring arched roof that creates a subtle, organic silhouette that blends in harmony with surrounding landscape.
The timber frame is covered by corrugated polycarbonate sheets that curve smoothly around the frame. It promises a great weather protection while showcasing the structure’s craftsmanship. This smart design eliminates the need for traditional roof-to-wall transitions, a cost-effective construction that can be easily implemented with minimal environmental impact.
