British menswear brand Hackett London has launched a four-piece capsule collection in collaboration with London-based luxury travel goods brand Carl Friedrik “for the modern globe-trotter”.

The collection includes the ‘Compact Weekender’ bag made from premium nubuck leather, as well as the ‘Carry-on’ case and ‘Check-in’ case – both crafted with TSA-approved aluminium lock frames, silent 360-degree Hinomoto spinner wheels and hardwearing polycarbonate shells for maximum durability and security, with signature Italian leather trims, and a leather luggage tag.

Hackett London is renowned for seamlessly blending traditional values with contemporary trends and has been “committed to quality and sartorial excellence since its inception”.

Honouring the same principles, Carl Friedrik aims to redefine the luxury travel goods space through luxury luggage and accessories that “combine timeless style with modern functionality”.

Niklas Oppermann, who co-founded Carl Friedrik in 2012 with his brother Mattis, said: “Hackett employs sartorial flair and timeless design principles to serve the modern, fashion conscious man.

“We follow a similar blueprint, except our focus is on contemporary travellers. So, this partnership felt like a natural fit — especially as both brands were founded in London.”

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Carl Friedrik has secured a new £1 million investment through a customer-led angel round. Inspired by the crowdfunding model, the brand invited customers to be part of its growth while maintaining the structure of an angel investment round.

With the capital, Carl Friedrik plans to invest in design and development, manufacturing and new distribution channels, as well as venturing into own retail.

The new Hackett London x Carl Friedrik collection is now available on the websites of both brands. The ‘Compact Weekender’ is retailing at £395, the ‘Carry-on’ case is £385, the ‘Check-in’ case is £465 and the ‘Luggage Tag’ is £49.
