After delivering two back-to-back hits with Wonka and Dune: Part Two, Chalamet has become the first actor in the past four decades to lead two top performers at the domestic box office. Produced by Warner Bros., Edge of Tomorrow 2 has been in development hell for years. However, if Timothée Chalamet joins the project as one of its leads, it could give it a much-needed push. Like Tom Cruise’s Major William Cage in the first Edge of Tomorrow, Chalamet’s character could be a recruit at the military base at Heathrow Airport who trains under Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt’s characters to defeat the overarching alien race. Or, Timothée Chalamet could portray some other prominent character alongside Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, injecting new energy into the sequel.
