It’s clearly that Gondola Bluetooth Speaker was inspired by the gondola lift function. The cool thing is, it’s a speaker with animation, a gondola on a musical journey. Music can lead listener to emotional journeys, just like a gondola lift that takes you moving from one place to another. Just as the music plays, from beginning to end, little gondola also moves along certain path from the starting point to the arrival point. How cool is that, heh? It means that you can physically monitor the seek bar of the app without opening the app, simply check the Gondola position in real time.
Designed by Sungmin Hwang, Gondola Bluetooth Speaker allows you to enjoy music in a special way. It’s similar to Gondola trip which is temporary yet the moment is special and fun. This concept project aims to make you focus on the present moment, enjoy the music, get away from your busy lives for a moment.
Inspired by his gondola lift ride during his visit to Namsan Tower, Seoul’s landmark, Sungmin really enjoyed the autumn mountain scenery below. He tried to incorporate three elements into the project: gondola, mountain, and tower. The seek bar is visualized as a gondola lift, making the passage of time in the music is more engaging and enjoyable. There are two little cabins that move back and forth during the music playback time. The fishing line is known for its durability, Sungmin decided to use this material for the gondola’s cable to transport those mini cabins.
