The initial design was born out of the ideal of our need to organize everyday items. Spiral Storage Tray Design is a simple yet practical everyday product that helps eliminate messy table. The designer admits that he used to place coins, cash, small items or other everyday carry on the surface of his entryway shoe cabinet. All these items were scattered all over the place. Trying to find solution, he created a storage tray which was specifically designed for entryways. This product becomes an ideal platform to place keys, coins, jewelry, etc. Its unique feature is actually a hidden spiral compartment, it’s perfect for concealing smaller items when needed.
Designed by Ping-Lun Chung, Spiral Storage Tray is crafted to provide user with practical and aesthetically pleasing solution. This wooden tray has a small round disk shape with two semi-circular pieces of wood. The strategic design place of the small disk makes sure that the wooden pieces align precisely, creating a seamless, continuous spiral surface. The creative design enhances the tray’s functionality as well as its aesthetics. It’s where form follows function for everyday product.
