Back in 1987, Nike revealed visible air cushioning to the world with Air Max 1. That creation marked a significant aesthetic and innovation for a lifestyle shoe. Now, in 2024, Nike announces a new chapter of Air with Nike Air Max 1000 3D-Printed Shoe. This 3D-printed shoe reimagines the Air Max 1, created in collaboration with 3D footware-printing company Zellerfeld.
For the first release, Air Max 1000 is dressed entirely in red, but you can see a nice shade that accents sculptural form of its 3D-printed process, laceless upper.
Using a single piece of 3D-printed material, Nike Air Max 1000 demonstrates the next level of manufacturing. The 3D-printed technology allows for great control, precision, and expression, all these elements are crucial to sport and to design. It’s a groundbreaking take on the classic Air Max, it reveals uppers and outsoles without a seam in sight. That opening in the heel allows you to see Air pouch clearly. The combination of both smooth and woven designs create good contrast and textures on the shoe, promising minimalist aesthetic despite waves on the sides.
We still don’t know when Nike will release Air Max 1000, we’ll inform you once it’s released.
